Welcome to
SecAppDev 2024

SecAppDev 2024 is happening, and it's going to be great! 16 experts will deliver 2 keynotes, 20 technical sessions and 4 one-day workshops. We are excited to take you on a week-long deep-dive into security.

This page contains everything you need when attending SecAppDev 2024. The links below take you to the relevant topics.

Evaluation and feedback

We take pride in delivering a high-quality SecAppDev course, year after year. Of course, this requires your input on how you experience SecAppDev.

We provide daily evaluation forms for you to complete. These forms allow you to give detailed feedback about each talk or workshop you attended. Additionally, you can give your general opinion on the day. They will appear here on the website each day, and will be sent out by mail.

As a token of our appreciation for filling out the forms, we raffle one book per day among averyone that completed the forms. The raffle for the first three days will take place during Wednesday closing session. The raffle for the final two days will be done after the conclusion of SecAppDev 2024.

Evaluation forms are not yet available

If you have any other feedback you want to give, feel free to shoot us a quick email. Of course, you can also grab us in person with anything you have to say.

Hangout on Slack

This year, we’re trying out a fun new feature - a virtual hangout on our Slack workspace. It’s a great way to connect with other participants not just during the conference hours but even in the evenings.

You should have received an invite in your email. If you can’t find it, give us a shout and we’ll get you set up.

Social time

To further foster interactivity, we have scheduled about 15 hours to socialize throughout the week. These moments are well-suited to expand on content from the lectures or run your ideas by our faculty members.

Each day at SecAppDev, we start the day with morning coffee from 8:00 till 9:00. We have a coffee break at 10:30 till 11:00. At 12:30, we enjoy lunch as a group, and at 15:30, we again enjoy a coffee break untill 16:00.

On Wednesday evening, we enjoy our course dinner. To RSVP for the dinner, please sign your name on the attendance sheet on Monday morning.

Venue

In good tradition, SecAppDev takes place at the unique setting of the Faculty Club in Leuven.

It is easy to reach by car or public transport. There is a good description of how to get there at the venue's web site.

If you come by car, you can use the Faculty Club car park with the code we emailed you. If you forget this code on the first morning, just ring the bell and tell the front desk that you are attending SecAppDev. You can also find the parking code on your course badge for the subsequent days.

Lectures and workshops take place in room Lemaire (Main building) and room Lemaître (West Wing), as indicated on the map.

Course dinner

We hope to welcome you to the course dinner on Wednesday evening. The dinner is the perfect opportunity to meet attendees and faculty in a different setting.

This year, we booked the rooftop terrace of Museum M, the city Museum. We will kick off the evening at 18:00 with a reception with some appetizers, followed by a gorgeous BBQ. We’ll finish in style with coffee and dessert.

Museum M is located right in the city center (Leopold Vanderkelenstraat 28), a brisk 15-minute walk from the Faculty Club. If you came by car, you can either leave your car at the Faculty Club, or use the public parking Ladeuze, close to the dinner venue.

To RSVP for the dinner, please sign your name on the attendance sheet on Monday evening.

Help

SecAppDev is an intimate and immersive experience. We strive to provide an environment where everyone feels welcome and safe. We encourage people to speak up about their opinions, and engage in thoughtful discussions.

In case you encounter a problem, feel unsafe or are otherwise uncomfortable, please reach out to us. No problem is too small, no issue too insignificant.

You can reach Philippe via email. His personal phone number is in the folder containing the course materials. The staff of the Faculty Club also knows how to reach Philippe.
